The Rome Area Songwriters Association came to life on September 14, 2000. The
purpose of the Association is to promote a higher awareness of the
artistry of songwriting,
throughout the local area. When many of us listen to music these days, more often
than not, we get caught up in the overall production of
the work, and tend to ignore
the content and its source. The Association strives to offer the listener a chance
to hear the music in its purest form,
presented from the heart and soul of its creator,
the songwriter. So much of the world's truly good music is rarely heard by most.
With the help of RASA, we hope that
many more music lovers will be able to hear
the creations of Rome's often overlooked assets, the local veteran artists, better
known as the songwriters.
